We got some more building materials this week. Two very large I-beams to be exact. Something will come together with all of our assortment of materials. Exactly what that structure is going to be or look like has not yet to be determined. It is safe to say that we just make it up as we go along. We tend to change our minds A LOT.

Sweet Bonnie had surgery this week. She is recovering great and enjoying her time being pampered.

She can’t seem to wait to be able to play with her big canine pals again. Watching these 3 together reminds me of the 3 stooges. Bonnie walks around on just her back legs initiating some kind of playful event with them. Bo trips over his own feet chasing after either of them, and Ellie knocks either one of them out with just her tail. Add Sammy the goat with that crowd and it really gets silly.

It’s just nonstop play around here for these guys. Looking at them, it’s hard to believe they are 4 month old puppies. However, they most certainly behave like puppies.

Speaking of puppies, how precious is she? I got to have some cuddles with my future niece puppy Charli, the golden doodle.

And just for a fun comparison….sweet baby Charli and her cousins Bo & Ellie. I’m not sure if Bo & Ellie were ever that size!

This Week’s Books

It’s all about gardening once again! We have checked this out before, but Shep absolutely loves “If You Plant a Seed”. The illustrations are so pretty. “The Tiny Seed” was a big hit for both kids as well.

“Ants in Your Pants, Worms in Your Plants” was a good read. A little long for Scott’s liking. I think the title most certainly spoke to the kids. My personal favorite was “My Garden”. I liked the illustrations and the ideas.

Gluten Free & Dairy Free Menu

  1. Chicken bacon ranch pasta with green beans tossed in.
  2. Instant pot BBQ pulled pork tenderloin, sautéed potatoes, and broccoli.

I added a little twist to our usual chicken bacon ranch pasta by adding green beans and it was a delicious addition! We also tried out Tessemae’s BBQ sauce for our pulled pork and it did not disappoint. It has a good taste. It definitely doesn’t have that sugary taste like most BBQ sauces have.

  1. Paleo Chicken Broccoli Rice Casserole
  2. Chicken & Rice Soup.

The paleo chicken broccoli casserole might just be my new favorite casserole. The rice used is cauliflower rice, but I think it would also be delicious if were regular rice as well. Scott is on a new cooking kick. His latest recipes start with a canned soup like Progresso and he adds additional veggies or protein. It reminds a lot of how he who use to cook for me when we were dating. As long as it doesn’t involve his twists with using tuna, I am ok with it.

Farm Animals

Shep loves feeding the chickens their salad. I would say they love him equally too for giving them salad.

Ellie is getting more familiar with the chickens. We are working on training both the puppies to protect the birds and farm, but sometimes I think it is just too much fun for them to not make one of the birds run and squawk.

We found a fun treat to give the ducks while they are swimming in the pond…..dried minnows. The kiddos get super excited about feeding the ducks these treats. There are at least 5 of the 13 ducks that now swim right up to them for a treat.

Oh Sammy, he was too skeptical to eat the treats the kiddos tried to give him. I think he smelled the dried minnows on their hands from feeding the ducks and apparently he wanted no part of that to go with his apple treats. He settled for some love instead. We decided that we will just give him snacks first next time.

We caught up with some egg donations this week since it was snowy last week. 72 eggs to be exact. The kiddos were super excited that we got to witness someone read our bible verse and take the eggs out of the blessing box.

Fitness

I am really not one to share results pictures or such pictures to begin with, but I have come to realize it is kinda hard to encourage fitness without a visual to see the results. As so it seems, It is easy to just talk about results and what you are doing, but another to represent it. So, here I am to share what I am doing and my results to show for it.

On Another Note…

In a past post I talked about these Bible lessons that I found for the kids on Sundays. I was gifted this bible story coloring book in the past and have been using it alongside the lessons. It turns out that the lessons and coloring pages crossover really well. I usually do the lesson and then tell the story again with the coloring pages and let the kids finish by coloring them. The kiddos have been displaying their colored pages each week on the fridge. I thought I would share this because I really like this idea. The kids can see and remember their lesson from the previous Sunday all week because it is displayed on the fridge. And then replace it with their new artwork from the next Sunday’s lesson.

I hope everyone has a great week! God Bless!
