2020 has been a ridiculous year, so keeping with that theme we have found our next renovation project. Isn’t she beautiful? Our family fell in love with this barn. The kids especially fell in love with the silo. The goal with this barn is to salvage as much as possible from it, move it to our land, and use a similar footprint to build a barn house with the silo. Scott has heard me talk nonstop for the last few years about our next home being a barn house. When we went to look at this, it just looked like home to me.
Oh, did I mention there is more than one barn to take down and move to our land? For the next 6 months, we will be working on not just one, but 2 large barns, a large shed, and silo. This one excites us too! It is huge! It should definitely hold all of our current farm animals and then some.
It is so huge that you can barely see me in this picture. Needless to say we are going to be very busy beavers the next 6 months!
Bottoms up! Haha…they never swing in the same direction.
More leaf pile fun this week.
This weekend also marked 11 years of marriage for us!
This Week’s Books
“Click, Clack, Moo I Love You” was a cute read and was requested by both Ava and Shepard quite a bit this week.
“Classic Munsch ABC” was a big hit with Shepard. He is getting closer to learning those ABCs. He would probably be even closer if we found an ABC book that listed a form of a tractor or tool for every letter of the ABCs because that seems to keep his interest.
“Over the River and Through the Wood” was a favorite for both kids as well. The theme was going to grandma’s house, so I am betting that was a big reason it was so well received.
Gluten Free & Dairy Free Menu
I have a delicious recipe for this week! This is probably the most requested recipe I have ever been asked for. If you love the heavenly combination of peanut butter and chocolate, you will fall in love with these cookies! No flour required, just a few simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand. These cookies are so so good and addicting!

Farm Animals
Our hens are busy laying eggs these days! Our average for eggs per day has increased to about 7-8. We try our best to encourage them with pep talks and snacks. Ava takes charge for those duties. I love her reasonings she comes up with to encourage them like “the more eggs you lay, the more pancakes we can make”. Whatever her reasonings, they seem to be working so it’s all good.
Bertha, our biggest pekin duck always keeps eye contact.
Meet Sassy. She has earned that nickname. The ducks always maintain simultaneous movement and direction with each other, but Sassy sometimes seems to like to call the shots. She occasionally gets out of line and quacks louder than the rest of the ducks. She is the rebel of the group.
Workouts
It was a little bit of a busy week with the barns and everything, so I only made 2 workouts this week. Tuesdays I save for leg days and I found another oldie, but a goodie. From Cathe’s Body Blast series, legs and glutes is one of my favorite lower body workouts. She does use a high step and weights for this workout. I love my high step and have definitely used it a lot over the years. It’s been super great for a variety of different workouts. My exact high step model is this one, which can be found on Amazon.
On Another Note
I am picturing our barn renovation looking something like this:
